Today’s Marking – Head Line Termination Points

Where: See the handprints below…the head line is the second relatively horizontal line across the hand, originating below the index finger and running across the palm toward the outside edge.

Short Head Line – ends under the ring finger. Generally short attention span, can make decisions quickly with very little input, prefers bullet-point communication, do not bore them with lots of detail or long paragraphs of information

Average Head Line – ends just past ring finger; nothing remarkable, can hold short or long conversations depending on interest level. Doesn’t get too tangled in analyzing and processing to make decisions.

Long Head Line – ends under pinky finger or further out; long attention span, good with complex situations, generally prefers lots of information to solve problems and make decisions, in head a lot, mental, lots of processing and analyzing. (Very long head line = intuitive AND analytical thinkers)

This one is very familiar to me! This is actually my left hand, and my right looks similar. L-o-n-g head lines on both hands, OMG I am in my head a ton! To my chagrin. Process here, analyze there, think and think again. Then some more thinking. It’s like a non-stop washing machine in my head! But I’m getting better! Meditation has been fabulous for this, as well as stopping to be aware of how I FEEL in my body when I’m trying to make a decision. Make no mistake, it’s not all bad by any means. Many people with long headlines are excellent problem-solvers, they think things through for best results, they are thorough, often very intelligent, consider all sides, etc. But it can be exhausting and time-consuming!

A PERSONAL NOTE

You know how some things can be happy and sad at the same time? Perfect example of this below. It will be another 4-6 weeks before I can ride Darby again, gotta wait for my broken bones to heal and for the plate and screws holding my clavicle together to work their magic.

In the meantime, my friend Judy has ponied him with her a couple times, meaning she has him with halter and lead and he walks beside her horse.

I’m super happy and grateful he is getting out every once in a while! He was very happy heading out on the trail the other day when I took these photos. But at the same time I’m sad that I can’t be the one taking him out! Patience is not coming easily for me around this, considering that riding Darby is my THANG…my joy, self-care, meditation, and peace of mind. I would be nuts to ride now, so I look at it as having no choice and I’m learning to accept it. Mostly. DARN IT!!
