Today’s Marking – Short Life Line

PHEW! A short life line has nothing to do with the length of your life.

Where: See the handprint below…When the life line stops quite short of the bottom of the thumb and does not curve around the base, it is considered short. In this print, the lifeline ends just shy of the fate line running up the center of the hand…I drew a somewhat horizontal line right at its termination point.

What: A short life line indicates a few things: a sense of urgency, interrupting yourself to handle things immediately as they come to your attention. This is also called a Gotta Gotta Gotta line, telling yourself, “I gotta finish this project, oh wait I gotta answer this email, oh wait I gotta send this email, oh wait I gotta empty the dishwasher!” When you know at least 2 of those things could wait! But you can’t help it! (shiny object syndrome?) it pops into your mind so you gotta do it. A short lifeline can cause inertia and/or sleep issues due to interrupting flow.

To help manage it, keep to-do lists, stick to them, make little notes to remind yourself of the things that pop into your head but can be done later. Be aware of when you bop around, awareness is the powerful 1st step! I have this marking, I’m a little more in control of it now, operative word being ‘little,’ LOL. Lemme tell ya though, it amazes me that I never miss a deadline, but I’m like a pinball machine while getting it done!

A PERSONAL NOTE

I’m SO lucky! And in so many ways. Today I want to share one way…This trail, Stone House in Lakewood, is a mere 5 minutes from my home. And it’s so beautiful now with the rushing water in Bear Creek and all the green! The part I walk is just under 2 miles round-trip, a perfect exercise and self-care walk. Like I said, I’m so lucky! If you believe in luck…which I really don’t but I think you get my meaning!

Jayne was a guest on Incorporating Superpowers.
According to Jayne, the absence of self-awareness, authenticity, and harmony with your deep core values, purpose,
and qualities is the root of many personal and business difficulties. As a result, retention concerning employees becomes lower.
