Today’s Marking – Mercury Line

Where: See the handprint…. The Mercury line is the angled vertical line starting near the bottom of the palm and going up toward the pinky finger. It can be on either hand or both. It can be direct and straight, go all the way up to the pinky (or not), start higher up in the hand, be doubled, or broken up.

What: The Mercury line represents a seeker, quester, someone who has asked the big questions about spirituality… “Who is God? What is God? Where do I fit in? What does it all mean? What are my spiritual beliefs? Etc.”

A direct and straight Mercury line = your whole life is about seeking, searching, on a quest for spiritual clarity, connection, and understanding; having a clear channel/connection with God. When you ask a question of your higher power, you will get the answer if you know how your intuition works and comes to you, and if you are open to receive it in various ways!

Doubled or multiple Mercury lines = either many voices in your head, such as mind chatter and intuition (God’s communication with us) competing for attention, or other people’s beliefs challenging what you know works for you.

A broken Mercury line = static communication, not fully tuned in.

Mine was doubled and broken but it is clearing up! It used to be SO hard for me to discern intuition from mind chatter, my mind was always buzzing. I’m still working on it and always will be, but it’s much easier now for me to detect. What has helped? MEDITATION! I resisted doing that for years, now I look forward to it and can’t recommend it highly enough. No, you don’t have to meditate an hour every day. Even 15 minutes 4 days a week is far better than nothing. The idea is not to expect a lightning bolt of intuition to strike while you are meditating, but to help your mind practice being quiet so that when an intuitive message comes through, it can be heard through the chatter and you can be aware of it.

Master Path: Listening to and trusting your inner voice, intuition, communication from God. God, Spirit, Source, whatever your word for Higher Power, tries so hard to help us! The message may be a whisper of thought, an idea, a feeling, a dream or vision, repeated messages from billboards, a page you open up to in a magazine, a comment someone makes standing in the line behind you at Starbucks. Master path is being open, flexible, aware, listening, watching, feeling!

Student Path: Not trusting it! Ignoring it, missing it. Not practicing a quiet mind so it can’t be heard through all the processing and analysis.

A PERSONAL NOTE

Are these adorable or what!? When I ride Darby I pass by a home on the south end of Addenbrooke Park that always has several small children playing in the backyard. They love seeing us go by, know Darby’s name, and call out to me.

The mom of one of them saw a shared post about my accident and tracked me down, letting me know that her little son has named all his toy horses Darby, how precious is that!

Then I got an envelope this week with these adorable homemade cards for me from the kids. Not sure you can read the little poem by Nora, it says, “Roses are red, violets are blue, I like your horse and I like you too.” OMG these brought tears to my eyes, so sweet and so thoughtful of mom Haley to send them to me!
