Today’s Marking – High Self-Expectations

Where: See the photo…This marking shows up as little boxes or a grid, perhaps lop-sided, on the mound at the top of the palm just under the index (Jupiter) finger, on either hand or both.

What: High Expectations of Self means just that. Boy can you be hard on yourself! Believe me I know, that’s my handprint you’re looking at, and I have this on both hands. I expect a lot of myself and I’m still learning how to give myself a break. People with this marking are high-achievers and driven, sometimes prone to perfection…more accurately the attempt for perfection, as perfection does not exist so why go nuts trying?! I’m learning! Life has been a lot more joyful since I started working on reducing my drive, having more fun, and using my Law of Attraction rituals to attract more of what I want. And guess what…my work keeps getting better and I’m achieving more too, isn’t that interesting. 🙂

Master Path: Learn that “good is good enough” so you don’t drive yourself crazy and/or burn out. Recognize (yourself and/or with help from a friend or partner or coach who will gently call you on it) when you are pushing too much and in over-achiever mode.

Student Path: The opposite of Master Path above, and, projecting those high expectations for yourself onto others as well, when those expectations have nothing to do with them! On the student path it’s hard to see when we are being unrealistic and hard on others, and that our expectations do not apply to them. Then we get disappointed when they don’t live up to those expectations for ourselves. Hello!

A PERSONAL NOTE

One of my four sisters came to Denver for a short visit, we hadn’t seen each other in nearly 8 years! What a wonderful 2.5 days! Of course lots of catching up, but we also had beautiful walks in nature and enjoyed a gorgeous drive over Guanella Pass. We saw lots of critters including a big spider, muskrat, mountain goat (or sheep?), elk. Here are a couple…. We also saw a bull snake but weren’t fast enough for a photo!
