Today’s Marking – Low Set Mercury (Pinky) Finger
Where: See the handprint below…The pinky finger is called Mercury. It is normally the lowest set finger of all…but there is low, and then there is really low.
Low set Mercury finger:
What: A low set (lower than average) Mercury finger indicates a desire for more intimacy, closeness, and understanding. Some people feel lonely and ‘abandoned’ in a way. That feeling usually starts in childhood with the opposite-sex parent. (This is their perspective.) They may not have literally been abandoned, but perhaps their opposite-sex parent wasn’t emotionally available or demonstrative.
Note – I have a low-set Mercury, although I was definitely NOT abandoned by my dad, he was a great provider and very involved in my life. However he did have challenges expressing his feelings and love for his kids, and with 7 of them, he only had so much time to give to each of us individually! Because of many independent markings in my hands, I never feel lonely, but I certainly desire closeness and understanding from people I love.
Men with a low set Mercury often feel that their mother’s happiness is their job, and can abandon their own needs to try to fill their mother’s and/or romantic partner’s needs.

A PERSONAL NOTE
YUM!! High Tea at Lumbar Baron Inn is delicious as you can see! It’s a lovely venue as well, very old with wallpaper on the ceilings. Does that make it ceiling-paper? LOL A beautiful garden area in the back, they are a B&B and hold events and weddings too.
